You don't have to be young and muscular to take up sport! And yes, during the Games, we're working hard to stay in top shape!
Take note!
All the courses listed below are free and open to all, but registration is compulsory for some. A piece of advice: act quickly, as spots tend to fill up rapidly!
Cardio boxing for mental health
Gentle gymnastics, stretching or cardio-boxing? The Fabrique de la Solidarité (Paris Centre) is offering introductory workshops in a range of physical activities to help maintain independence and health. These will take place every Friday in August, but please note that registration is compulsory.
Strike!
"Strike 2024" is an event specially designed for seniors, using bowling to keep active and maintain your health, all in a great atmosphere!
Game, set and match
The Tennis Club St Bernard is convinced that health and tennis go hand in hand! It is demonstrating this with a series of tennis workshops for senior citizens at Place Léon-Blum (11th arrondissement).
Sitting volleyball
The Union nationale des retraités et des personnes âgées (UNRPA) is hosting a Paralympic discipline try out with sitting volleyball classes, which work the upper body muscles.
Work your brain
Arms and legs aren't the only thing being put to the test during the Games! The brain gets a workout too, with bridge sessions and tournaments. Another good reason not to miss out: the Games will be held outdoors, in the shade of the century-old trees of the Parc Sainte-Périne (16th arrondissement).
Petanque and mölkky
A gentle holiday breeze - tinged with Olympism - is blowing across Paris! The Saussure Senior Club, part of the St Ange network, invites you to a delightful excursion to Martin-Luther-King Park in the 17th arrondissement, where you can master the art of skill games with rounds of pétanque or mölkky.
Ever softer
Pilates, gentle gymnastics, qi gong or even tango: the Comité Régional Sports pour Tous Île-de-France offers fun sports and well-being workshops..
Badminton and dancing
Traditional dance or badminton? Why choose? Take advantage of sessions hosted by the Saint-Blaise club, with introductory sessions for both activities in August and September. Perfect for relieving post-holiday stress!
Last but not least
Let's dance
Joint and respiratory relaxation exercises + flexibility + harmonious dance movements = a gentle program for seniors and/or people wishing to get back in touch with their bodies.
