On August 28, the Paralympic Flame will make its way into Paris, passing through some of the capital's most emblematic sites, as well as a number of festive venues. Find out more about its route and the unmissable events on the day!
A multiple torch relay
For this Paralympic relay, not one but twelve flames will enter Paris simultaneously. One main flame lit in Great Britain, as tradition dictates, and eleven others from the rest of France. These will be carried to 22 locations around Paris.
At the same time, the main flame will pass through the INSEP sporting academy (12th arrondissement) and the esplanade Saint-Louis (12th arrondissement) between 10 and 11 a.m., and in the afternoon, between 4 and 6 p.m., through the place de la Nation (11th arrondissement), the town hall of the 11th arrondissement, the place de la République (Paris Centre, 10th and 11th arrondissements), the place de la Bastille (Paris Centre, 11th, 12th arrondissements) and the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Centre).
