The Regards Croisés collective presents its photographic exhibition on athletes and sports associations in the 17th arrondissement.
We're a collective of photographers, brought together by the desire to share a certain vision and to confront different photographic styles.
For over 10 years, we've been working on projects to promote and enhance street photography in particular, and photographic art in general. These include the Street Photography Festival associated with Parcours 17, now in its 6th year.
At the end of 2023, we launched a new project based around the sports associations of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, where we are anchored as an association. The aim is to produce a series of photographs of training sessions and interclub competitions, in collaboration with sports associations, and to present them in the form of an exhibition alongside photographs of sporting activities in the street. A cross-section of views on sport as it is practiced on a daily basis.
We are presenting this exhibition during the period of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, at the festivities site in the 17th arrondissement, in the Parc Martin-Luther-King.
Several local sports associations responded to our call, and we'd like to thank them for their cooperation and warm welcome:
- ASALP, adapted sports association for young teenagers and adults with mental or psychological disabilities,
- The Akïkai Péreire martial arts dojo
- The Noro Kinomichi - Korindo Dojo international center, an art of Japanese origin in the Budō tradition, created by Masamichi Noro in 1979 in Paris.
- The "Ultralight Expanded" volleyball club, founded in 1986 by architect-volleyball players
Our project benefits from the financial support of the Fonds d'animation locale dedicated to the site of festivities in the 17th arrondissement during the summer of 2024, for which it is the winner of the call for projects.
