Requests for the following iconic locations are not handled by
Paris Film:
Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre Museum, Tuileries Garden, Opéra Garnier, Opéra Bastille, Bastille Column, Luxembourg Garden, Musée d’Orsay, La Défense, Palais Royal, Palace of Versailles, Trocadéro Esplanade, Parc de la Villette, Jardin des Plantes, banks of the Seine, Élysée Palace, Matignon, Parliament, government ministries. Please contact the managers of these sites directly. Paris Film remains your point of contact for managing parking requests near these locations.
Advance Notice of Filming on Public Roads
Advance notifications
are permits required for low-scale film shoots;
they must be submitted one week before filming begins.
Requirements
Advance notifications
apply to film shoots:
- In a small team of up to 10 people with lightweight equipment (projectors, Steadicam, reflector, etc.)
- Only on streets and/or bridges located within the city of Paris, excluding all other locations
- No specific parking request for production or cast vehicles
- No request for traffic control
- Without the use of special effects or anything that might disrupt public order (drones, uniforms, stunts, etc.)
Advance notices do not allow
- Filming at night after 11 p.m. (to respect the peace and quiet of local residents)
- To reserve parking spaces or park vehicles
- Filming in: parks and gardens, sports facilities, riverbanks, canals, the Seine, monuments, and inside Parisian buildings
All of these specific locations and times must be included in an AGATE filming permit application.
Deadlines and administrative requirements
The deadline for submitting the
application is one week before filming (5 business days).
Any request made
less than one week before filming may be rejected.
Advance declarations
are not subject to a fee.
Insurance: The applicant
agrees to obtain and provide, prior to filming, all necessary insurance
and to hold the City of Paris harmless from any liability.
How to file a preliminary declaration
To request a
prior notice of filming on public roads:
- Please fill out the form below, specifying the scenes that were filmed and the exact addresses of your locations
- Please send the form and proof of insurance to: gbheantrf@cnevf.se[tournages then paris.fr after the @ sign]
- Paris Film will issue you an authorization number and an email; in the event of an inspection, you must present both of these documents
Application for a filming permit via the AGATE platform
The permit must
be submitted at least three weeks (15 business days) before filming via
the AGATE app. These lead times are necessary to prepare the filming permit
in coordination with City of Paris departments (public works,
sanitation, lighting, etc.) and with the Police Prefecture if needed.
Filming permits may be subject to a
fee.

What an AGATE authorization allows
- Filming in specific locations managed by the City of Paris: parks, gardens, sports facilities, libraries, canals, churches, elementary and primary schools…
- Reserve parking spaces for your service vehicles and/or game vehicles
- Request an intermittent closure or suspension of car or bicycle traffic
- Filming a waterfall
- Request the removal of street furniture
- Request a lighting change
- Organize a driving event
- Filming with police uniforms, branded cars, prop weapons, and toy vehicles
Before submitting an application
- Check the rates using the fee schedule
- Find out about parking and traffic
- Find out which streets are off-limits or not recommended for filming
- Learn about the green transition
- Please bring the following documents: synopsis, proof of insurance, script, technical specifications, and layout plans for your technical or play area (background map provided by the CapGéo guide)
Track your request
Once your application
has been submitted, you will immediately receive a confirmation of receipt. Within
24 to 72 hours, you will receive a notification informing you that your application has been assigned
to a Paris Film representative, who will serve as your point of contact.
Important Information
Policy on Combating Sexist and Sexual Violence and Harassment (VHSS)
All requests to film at AGATE must be accompanied by a signed copy of the policy on combating gender-based and sexual violence and harassment.
- For special film shoots (historical films, action films, or high-impact productions), please contact Paris Film at least three months before filming begins.
- Advertising requests are handled differently and are subject to more flexible rules.
- The Paris Police Prefecture does not wish to allow any filming within the Champs-Élysées area until further notice.
- Number of authorized service vehicles: a maximum of 5 vehicles in high-traffic districts (Paris Center,5th,6th,7th,9th,10th, and Montmartre Hill in the18th), excluding food service areas; A maximum of 8 vehicles in the rest of Paris (excluding cafeterias).
