What Paris Film Does
Paris
Film is the office responsible for coordinating film shoots in Paris. It serves as the
City of Paris’s single point of contact for submitting permit applications for filming
fiction, commercials, advertising shoots, artistic photography,
documentaries, and music videos in public spaces located within
the boundaries of the City of Paris and managed by the City of Paris.

Two types of permits depending on your shoot
Advance notifications for filming on public roads
- You are a team of fewer than 10 people
- You're shooting with lightweight equipment (lights, Steadicam, reflector, etc.)
- You do not have a specific parking request for film crew or production vehicles
- You do not have a traffic-related request
Applications must be submitted one week before filming (5 business days).
AGATE Filming Permit Application
- You are a team of more than 10 people
- Would you like to film in parks and gardens, at sports facilities, along the riverbanks, on the canals, on the Seine, at monuments, sports facilities, libraries, canals, churches, and elementary and primary schools?
- Would you like to request a parking permit or report a traffic issue?
- Do you have requests involving public order-related elements: police or emergency response uniforms, prop weapons, vehicles with custom graphics, stunts, explosions, removal of street furniture…
Applications must be submitted 3 weeks before filming (15 business days).
Best practices
Relations with local residents and business owners
In order
to ensure the peace and quiet of residents and businesses, it is essential to
notify them in advance of the filming, either through posters or by distributing flyers in
mailboxes.
During
filming, permits must be displayed on the windows of
vehicles along with the phone number of the person in charge of production.
This person must be available at all times to answer questions from local residents.
Politeness
and courtesy should always be observed, no matter the circumstances.
Noise
should be kept to a minimum, especially during assembly or disassembly early in the
morning or late at night.
Small portable generators with a capacity of less than 10
kW are prohibited on public roads.
We must respect the environment.
