One of the most unforgettable sights from the opening ceremony of the Paris Games on July 26 was a metallic horse called "Zeus." It galloped down six kilometers of the Seine with a mysterious rider and the Olympic flag upon its back. An extraordinary journey, a vision of the future imbued with unique urban poetry, emblematic of unity, endurance, and tranquility, drawing inspiration from the works of the English photographer Eadweard Muybridge.

The work, imagined by Nantes-based architecture and design studio Atelier Blam, was produced entirely in France. The horse and the rider's armor are the property of Sanofi, a Paris 2024 partner. Several trades were involved: boilermakers, mechanics, engineers, designers, architects… The result is a masterpiece that blends craftsmanship and technology. Made of aluminum hulls and measuring 1m80, "Zeus" will bring the spirit of the Games to life during the Paralympics, as it can be admired in the courtyard of the Hôtel de Ville from August 28.
It's free, but reservations are required. Don't wait too long to get your tickets!
