Do you have a health problem and your GP isn't available? In Paris, there are several alternatives to the emergency room, at any time of the day or night.

Need a medical consultation near you?

Several solutions are available in your area or nearby.
  1. During the day, contact your GP first . You can also ask your local pharmacist for advice.

  2. If you don't have a regular doctor, or one is unavailable, there are several medical consultation centersin your area. To find out where they are, click on the arrondissement module below.

  3. If you can't find a solution, call 15.
    The 15 is not only reserved for life-threatening emergencies, it's also the number for the Service d'accès aux soins. On the phone, a doctor will assess your situation, give you any advice you need and, if necessary, direct you to the appropriate care (consultation, home visit, hospital, etc.). In the event of an emergency, he or she will direct you to an emergency service or organize the intervention of an appropriate team.

Dial 15 is not just for serious emergencies. You can also call it when, for example:

Doctors approved by the Paris Department

If you are required by law to obtain a certificate issued by an approved physician, you can consult the list that applies to you.
An approved doctor is registered on a list issued by the Prefecture of the département. It is recognized by the courts and is a guarantee of seriousness in the delivery of medical certificates.
You can obtain a list by department from your GP, your local health insurance office or on the Internet.
If you wish to lodge a complaint about an assault you have been the victim of, you can have the bodily injuries medically confirmed, with a requisition issued by a police station, 24 hours a day, every day, at Hôtel-Dieu - 1, place du Parvis-Notre-Dame, Paris4th district.

There are spaces for people in psychological and social distress, in precarious situations, who need to be heard and helped.

Psychiatric care

When it comes to psychiatric care, there are a number of services available to help you. Attached to the "Psychiatrie Précarité" cluster of the Groupement Hospitalier Universitaire Paris Psychiatrie et Neurosciences, 5 Équipes Mobiles Psychiatrie Précarité (EMPP) cover Paris, the Bois de Vincennes and the Bois de Boulogne. They facilitate access to care and psychiatric follow-up for people living in precarious conditions and/or excluded from society. In case of emergency, the Centre psychiatrique d'orientation et d'accueil (CPOA) at the Centre hospitalier Sainte-Anne can also provide assistance 24 hours a day.
