The Balard/Olivier-de-Serres section to the west and the Dantzig/Brancion section to the east are now connected! The 300-meter tunnel that had previously separated them opened in early August, following safety improvements.

Of the 32 kilometers of the Petite Ceinture, 12 to 13 kilometers are currently open to the public, while an additional 10 kilometers are expected to open in the coming years.
Good news for residents ofthe 15th arrondissement and fans of the Petite Ceinture: a continuous 2-kilometer walk without any interruptions—the longest stretch of the Petite Ceinture—is now possible from Georges-Brassens Park to Place Balard.
One section already allowed pedestrians to follow the Petite Ceinture along the park from Rue Brancion, but it ended in front of a closed tunnel. This tunnel blocked access to the section between Rue Olivier-de-Serres and Place Balard, which has been open since 2013 and features five entrances.
Today, the 300-meter-long tunnel has been made safe by the SNCF, thanks to funding from the city, and is now open to pedestrians.
An art center is coming soon to the Petite Ceinture
More good news: on Rue de Vaugirard, the management of an exceptional site—spanning 2,000 square meters and featuring eleven vaults—has been awarded to the company Gabius. There, the company will bring the Underline project to life, initially designed to host temporary exhibitions, followed by artist and artisan residencies. The company won the call for proposals in June 2026 issued by SNCF Immobilier, the entity responsible for developing the group’s real estate assets.
