The festivity site in the 12th arrondissement is presenting an exhibition by artist Vincent Dogna that showcases hands in various sports disciplines.
Merging art with sport, this unique exhibition showcases 32 disciplines of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, depicted solely through hands. Vincent Dogna, a Paris-based painter from the 12th arrondissement with a focus on sports, encourages viewers to explore this intricate mechanism. Initially crafted on paper, the drawings were later digitized and augmented with graphic and textual components. Are you able to identify the disciplines?
Following the face, the hand is the second most expressive body part. The exhibition showcases both strong and delicate hands, highlighting anatomical and gender variations. Art and sport serve as potent conduits of emotion, forging a language that transcends borders. In their movements, athletes embody the essence of artists.
