Balade sur les nouvelles berges de Seine par mairiedeparis

1) Your summer terraces!

Explore Paris’ newest terraces, while waiting for the new barges to arrive!

- Le Faust

Le Faust (image de synthèse)

Le Faust is a new terrace on the banks of the Seine which doubles as a superb showcase for Paris’ iconic urban landscape. With its rattan furniture and bright and friendly bar, this terrace offers different settings for different times of day, making it the ideal place to come and relax with family, friends or colleagues. Open 11am to 1am.

- Waiting for Rosa

A brand new restaurant - Rosa Bonheur sur Seine - will open here in December 2013, offering a modern take on the traditional guinguette, or waterside café, that first flourished in the early twentieth century.
Meanwhile, the terrace "En attendant Rosa…" offers a sneak preview of some of the future restaurant’s flagship dishes, with a selection of drinks and tapas. Open every day from 8 am to midnight.

- Le Flow

Located upstream from the Pont Alexandre III, this temporary 400m² beach is a haven for Parisians and visitors, basking in the sunshine or sheltering in its shady arbour depending on the season. The Le Flow terrace offers a selection of freshly-prepared dishes and home-made pastries to suit all tastes and fancies. At Le Flow, customers can enjoy lunch or drinks outdoors while making the most of the sunshine and enjoying the exceptional view of the Seine. Open until 2 am.

2) The floating gardens: an archipelago for nature

- Floating Gardens

Jardins Flottants

This green space, consisting of five islands interconnected by walkways, is accessible to all from the riverbank at the Port du Gros Caillou. Each island is planted and equipped with furniture: wooden structures on the orchard island, deck chairs on the fog island, a glasshouse jungle on the birds' island, and games for children on the meadow island

3) The steps: no ordinary staircase

This is one of the most striking visual symbols of the new banks of the Seine. This gigantic staircase is both a work of art and a highly practical means of accessing the quaysides. It is installed in front of the Musée d'Orsay.
In the event of a sudden rise in the water level, the steps can be dismantled in less than 24 hours.

4) The kids’ kingdom
On the new banks of the Seine, kids reign supreme. There is something for children of all ages and interests: adventurers, sporty kids, dreamers, explorers... And don’t miss our special tepees, where perfect for a unique birthday party by the waterside.

Mumo

The tepees can be reserved free of charge for up to 10 children on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Reserve online at http://lesberges.paris.fr (from June 19).

- The Satellite of the Senses can accommodate up to 12 children aged from 3 to 6, accompanied by an adult. The satellite takes kids on a veritable voyage of discovery: an artistic exploration of the five senses. In these green, spacious surroundings children learn all about their different senses in a fun and educational format.

- The blackboard wall: for kids bursting with imagination

Children are invited to have fun at the blackboard wall with our giant sticks of chalk. The chalk is available free of charge at the foot of the slate wall.

-Amusing ground markings

Right in the heart of Port Solférino, you’ll find a map of the world and array of animal pictures forming an open air playground. Games for young and old, including hopscotch, chess, a labyrinth and giant snakes and ladders.

5) A touch of "Zen" on the banks of the Seine

- Zzzz: kick back and relax

Les Zzzz

For a little afternoon nap or just a game of cards, reserve one of the 4 Zzzz spaces on the riverside promenade. Enjoy your own private garden and terrace right in the heart of Paris. These converted maritime containers can be booked for up to 90 minutes on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

-Centipede Tables: fun and games for all

Located in Port Solférino and the Port des Invalides, the new Centipede Tables are the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends on the banks of the Seine.

-Sound showers: your playlist!

Speakers set up under the Pont de la Concorde give you the chance to truly immerse yourself in music! Radio Nova and TSF Jazz have created special Berges de Seine playlists. You can also plug in your Bluetooth device and enjoy your own music down by the riverside!

 6) For sports enthusiasts

This exceptional 2.3 km stretch between the Musée d'Orsay and the Pont de l'Alma is a runner’s dream.
The banks of the Seine are equipped with a whole host of sports equipment, including an athletics track, a climbing wall and a play area for children.
