Petit Palais - Beaux-Arts Museum of the City of Paris
La dernière moisson (The last harvest) - Rabindranath Tagore From 27 January to 11 March One year after the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Indian artist Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), the Petit Palais will present to the public approximately 85 of his paintings on paper. Eclectic, lavish and abundant, his work, particularly his paintings, constitutes a vital artistic link between India and the rest of the world. Tagore appeals to the whole world and still inspires the most modern artists in India today. Further information
J.M. Sert, le Titan à l'oeuvre (J.M. Sert, The Titan at work) (1874-1945) From 8 March to 5 August The immensity of his body of work and the strength of his personality make Sert a universally admired artist in his time. The Petit Palais will allow the public to rediscover J.M.Sert, the Titan at Work (1874-1945) and open the doors to his workshop to show the strength of his art, the originality of his method and the brilliance of his life. Eko Nugroho - Témoin hybride (Hybrid Witness) From 13 January to 31 March Eko Nugroho (born in 1977 in Indonesia where he lives and works) produces wall paintings, videos, fanzines, cartoons and collages as well as embroideries whose high degree of technical skill and surrealist and humorist imagery are deeply rooted in the counter-culture... Resisting the Present - Mexico 2000/2012 From 9 March to 8 July In its ARC (workshop for research and creativity), the MAM will bring together 24 Mexican artists born after 1975, who have been heavily involved in the development of their country over the last two decades and have acquired a reputation on the international scene. Crumb From 13 April to 20 August Crumb was the founding author of the underground in 1967 and is an iconic reference point in American counter-culture. The exhibition will be an opportunity to see the everlasting richness of his original drawings. They will be viewed alongside his notebooks of sketches and a number of underground magazines which show a creative freedom which is still biting today. Further information
Christopher Wool From 30 March to 19 August Christopher Wool, who was born in Chicago in 1955, lives and works in New York. He is currently one of the best known painters of his generation and a major figure in American art. Famous for his paintings/letters in black and white, he experiments with many different techniques in his work, including stencils, silk-screen printing and photoshop. Further information
Carnavalet Museum: Eugène Atget and Emmanuel Pottier From 18 April to 29 July Discover the Parisian work of the photographer Eugène Atget (Libourne, 1857 - Paris, 1927), photographs which are very rarely shown to the public. Further information

Doisneau, Paris Les Halles The first photo which Robert Doisneau took of Les Halles dates from 1933. He remained faithful to this district for 40 years, constantly returning to visit it and to follow its changes and latest developments. Les enfants cachés: Déportation et sauvetage des enfants juifs à Paris, 1940-1945 (The hidden children: the deportation and saving of Jewish children in Paris, 1940-1945) The exhibition presents the complexity and diversity of Jewish childhoods faced with the Holocaust. From the date of the "rafle du Vél d’Hiv" on 16 and 17 July 1942 (round-up of Jews in the Paris Winter Velodrome during the Second World War), the age of Jewish children no longer protected them from barbarity. 4,051 children aged under 16 were arrested and sent to the camps at Drancy, Beaune-la-Rolande and Pithiviers. Beauté animale: de Dürer à Jeff Koons (Animal Beauty: from Dürer to Jeff Koons) From 21 March to 16 July Through major works, the exhibition explores the relationships between the artists and the animals. Further information
Orangerie Museum: Debussy, la musique et les arts (Debussy: music and arts) From 21 February to 11 June The exhibition will highlight the important meetings between the musician and the artists and poets of his time, evoked mainly through the collections of three families of friends who supported him during the difficult years which preceded the creation of Pelléas and Mélisande: those of the painter Henry Lerolle (1848-1929), the composer Ernest Chausson (1855-1899) and Arthur Fontaine (1860-1931), State Councillor. Orsay Museum: Degas et le nu (Degas and the Nude) From 13 March to 1 July 2012 This exhibition explores Degas’ development in his portrayal of the nude, from the academic, historic approach of his early days to the time when the body became part of modern art during his long career. Arts décoratifs Museum: Trompe l’œil, imitations, pastiches et autres illusions (Trompe l’œil, imitations, pastiches and other illusions) From 2 February 2012 to 15 November 2013 Trompe-l’œil (in English, “deceive the eye”), as its name indicates, is intended to deceive the eye and was originally found in painting. In decorative arts, this deceiving of the eye took on very varied forms. Some media such as wallpaper were ideal for this form of expression. From the most modest to the most sumptuous, they all imitate materials, from wood, lacquer, tiles, straw and velvet to paintings with their frames. Further information
Pinacothèque de Paris (Paris Art Gallery): Les masques de Jade (The Jade Masks) From 26 January 2012 to 10 June The Pinacothèque de Paris continues its exploration of Pre-Columbian and Mesoamerican cultures. Following the success of the L’Or des Incas: origines et mystères (Origins and Mysteries of the Inca’s Gold) exhibition, the Pinacothèque de Paris is presenting the most important archaeological discovery of the last decade in Mexico: the jade mosaic masks.
