It all began in 1982. The first Music Festival was launched at the initiative of the French Ministry for Culture and Communication. Where can you listen to music?
In Paris, the main squares (Bastille, République, Nation, etc.) often have huge stages. The Place Denfert-Rochereau regularly hosts pop rock artists and the esplanade of the Château de Vincennes is also a favourite spot for large concerts. Music is welcome everywhere: parks and gardens (Tuileries, Luxembourg, Buttes-Chaumont, etc.), museum courtyards, cafe terraces and especially local streets and small squares. In the streets of the Latin quarter, for example, in those of Le Marais, near the mound of Montmartre, on the banks of the St Martin canal, etc. The programme
Note: all events are free, whether they are held in halls or outside.
