The Centre Pompidou (or Centre Beaubourg) is a multicultural forum nestled in the heart of Paris. French President Georges Pompidou had it built – he wanted an original arena for modern and contemporary creation, where plastic arts, books, design, music and film could cross-fertilise – and it features a public library, bookshop, cafés, the Musée National d’Art Moderne, temporary contemporary-art exhibitions – and one of the most stunning views of Paris.
