International students: Paris welcomes you!
You are coming to Paris and need some help? Two welcome services, created especially to help international students freshly arrived in Paris are available at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris and the Crous de Paris from 15 September to 14 November.
How do you find your way when you arrive in Paris? Two welcome services, especially set up for international students, are available at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (student residences) and the Crous de Paris (student services).
How does it work?
Two welcome services receive international students who have just arrived in Paris. They will answer all your questions (looking for accommodation in Paris, administrative procedures, practising French, leisure activities, etc.).
Welcome services open from 15 September to 14 November 2014
from Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30 pm at the the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris
from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5 pm at the Crous de Paris

At the Cité Internationale’s welcome services, you can also carry out some administrative procedures:
- request the certification of your visa by OFII;
- apply for a student’s residence permit;
- request to change your status from student to employee;
- make a request for housing benefit to the CAF (Caisse d’allocations familiales, French National Family Allowance Office)
- find out about the rules governing work and employment for international students.
A tool kit for students…
The section “International students” on the Etudiantdeparis.fr website provides information about accommodation (looking for accommodation, housing benefit, etc.), on administrative procedures (visa serving as residence permit, working during studies, Social security, opening a bank account, etc.), on assistance and welcome services for international students (international student associations, French lessons, etc.), as well as on grants and school or university registration.
